A second year university branding project
The Brief: Design a brand for a new rum called Whistling Frog that is distilled only in Barbados, and the only rum originating in Barbados that uses botanicals from the island
For this project, I firstly had to create a brand story, which I did using the legend of the Chase Family Vault and the mysterious moving coffins within the vault, and combined that with the Haitian Vodou of Baron Samedi. I opted for a skull wearing a top hat as that is how Baron Samedi is viewed, but instead of using feathers and bones often associated with vodou spirits, I decided to use a botanical leaf to represent the botanicals used in the rum. The hints of purple within the design. further link to how the spirit of Baron Samedi is viewed by the locals.
